Visit Michael Rowland’s leather studio in Merrickville and learn to make something real with your own hands.
In this small-group workshop, Michael will guide you through the process of creating a hand-stitched leather zip case from start to finish. You can use your finished piece as a cosmetic bag, jewellery pouch, art supply case, pencil case, or everyday carry-all.
This is a relaxed, hands-on experience for groups of three to five people. Come with a few friends, enjoy time in the studio, and leave with a leather piece you made yourself.
What You’ll Make
Each participant will make a hand-stitched leather zip case using quality leather and Michael’s guidance.
Your finished piece can be used as:
- A cosmetic bag
- A jewellery pouch
- An art supply case
- A pencil case
- A small travel pouch
No previous leatherworking experience is needed. Michael will walk you through the process step by step.

Workshops are designed for small groups of three to five people.
The workshop takes about three hours and can be booked on weekdays or weekends, depending on availability.
